SOCIAL MEDIA GUN

Yes, we know, a ‘gun’ isn’t really a job description but the role we have doesn’t fit neatly into a box. At ausbiz, we’ve been streaming live now (8 hours every weekday) for over a year and we’ve built a reputation as a platform for credible, quality content. In fact, around 60 people including markets experts, tech founders and business leaders talk to us every day.

It’s a huge volume of content and we want to make sure it gets the attention it deserves. Our ‘gun’ will know social inside out (Twitter, FB, LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram) and must have experience in live video on these platforms. Ideally you’ll come from a journalism or business/finance background as understanding our audience, our content and our voice is critical. You could be a social media journalist who knows content marketing, or a content marketer who knows editorial.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the leadership team to further develop (and own!) our social media strategy

  • Create and execute social content, and coordinate our whole-of-team social posts

  • Ensure any social elements of our commercial campaigns delight our clients

  • Build and track benchmarks for success across engagement and commercial metrics

  • Owning our relationships with the News Partnerships teams across the social platforms

About you

  • You’re obsessed with social and using it to build communities

  • You use your initiative to get stuff done fast without compromising quality

  • We’re a journalism business so it’s absolutely critical you consistently get spelling, grammar and facts right

  • You’re always thinking of better, more creative ways to tell stories, and you’re not afraid to share them

We’re based at Barangaroo in Sydney, although if you fit the bill and live somewhere else the role could be remote. We’re also open to part-time for the right person. Applicants must have the right to work in Australia.
