Australia’s dedicated business and finance streaming service, ausbiz, welcomes Kyle Rodda to its on air lineup. Kyle was most recently a market analyst with global trading platform, IG and brings deep experience in financial markets, macro and foreign exchange.
Kyle will present alongside David Koch, David Scutt, Andrew Geoghegan and ausbiz Head of Content, Nadine Blayney.
“We take our commitment to bring Australian investors the best information incredibly seriously," says Blayney. "I've long admired Kyle's take on markets and am excited for his contribution to our team's real experience in markets and business journalism."
Rodda says, "I am truly thrilled to be joining the ausbiz team. Kylie, Nadine and the crew have a long track record in business media and I’ve been a voracious consumer of their work during my time in the markets. It's an exciting prospect to become one of ausbiz's trusted voices and I can't wait to grow with the business."
Also joining ausbiz is Ben Haylock as Head of Product. Ben has led teams for more than 20 years with a focus on video and streaming technology. He will spearhead the design and development of a new video platform, creating smarter ways for ausbiz subscribers to connect with investment information, ideas and opportunities. Ben has previously worked at Telstra, beIN Media Group, Dolby and MBC (Dubai).
“There is nothing more rewarding than developing a technology solution when you can clearly see the opportunity exists. I’m really looking forward to the challenge of connecting ausbiz’s network of content, commercial partners and investors in a truly unique way,” said Haylock.
Development of the new video platform will be funded by current revenues, in addition to capital from existing and new investors. Participating in the most recent fundraising round is Sprint Ventures, one of Australia’s fastest growing early-stage venture capital firms.
“We believe in the team ausbiz has built and in the potential for the platform to serve even more of the business and investor market,” shares Llew Jury, Managing Partner and Founder of Sprint.
“The traction the ausbiz platform has secured and its deepening trust across the business community is a key driver behind our investment. ausbiz’s new platform creates opportunities for fresh interaction and will enrich the investor economy.”
Of the Sprint investment, ausbiz Founder and Managing Director Kylie Merritt says, “It’s a privilege to join Sprint’s impressive portfolio of investments and be able to leverage the team’s experience across the technology sector. I’m excited to work with Ben, Sprint and our other partners to build something of real value for Australian investors.”
