In a career spanning nearly 20 years, he has transitioned from one side of the camera to the other, moving into financial journalism in 2015 after a more than decade in banking.
Prior to joining ausbiz, he was a markets reporter at the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age. Before that, he was the markets and economics editor at Business Insider Australia, leading coverage for the international editions during the Asian timezone. He was also the co-host of the popular markets podcast, Devils and Details.
David started his finance career at the Commonwealth Bank, working at both Commsec and the bank’s global markets division as an interest rate and currency dealer. He also held the role of treasury dealer at Arab Bank Australia, helping the bank to successfully navigate the global and European financial crises.
